Walter Norman, Jr. Creative Expressions Studio Artist
WALTER NORMAN, JR. is a self-taught artist residing in the middle Georgia area. He is a very creative and enthusiastic artist that is always ready to work on his art. Walter enjoys drawing, painting, printmaking, and ceramics and spends many hours per week crafting his skills at the Creative Expressions Studio & Gallery. He is able to create the most unique images from his unending imagination. He is inspired by many aspects of popular culture such as “The Wizard of Oz,” “Superman,” and local political figures as well as from things found in nature. Walter is also a very spiritual person, which is reflected in many of his pieces of art. He has received numerous art awards including a 2010 GAWD Distinguished Merit, 2010 EMAC Judges Choice award, 2009 GAWD Honorable Mention, and a 2010 No Limits award. His artwork has traveled throughout the state of GA, and currently has two works in the GA Artists with disAbilities 2010 tour. His artwork can also be found at the local interactive art space, the FolksArt in downtown Milledgeville, GA where he was the featured artist for the month of September.
